Merlin NEW 2010
Merlin
The Merlin is the widest shape in our entire line and this extended surface area enhances both wave catching ability and wave riding stability. The nose is wide enough to be called a nose rider and the pintail gives that great smoothness to the turn, with a fluid cutback like no other tail. The bottom of the nose has a soft concave and the tail has a slight “V” with soft tunnels next to it. The rails are rather unique, with the front 2/3 being traditional 50/50 rails that transition into downturned rails at the tail. The Merlin finds the slot when nose riding and has the positive feel of a contemporary board when turning. This board is pure magic, so we named it Merlin after the most famous wizard of them all.

Rapier NEW 2009
Rapier
This pin tail has the float and paddling of the Banana, and as much stability on the nose as the San-O. It has the wonderful flow of turn to cut back that the pin tail delivers. Not all pin tails are alike, as the outline preceding the tail curve has been carefully crafted to minimize drive loss that is typical of so many other pintail boards. The Rapier has our Cruiser rail design that is low and soft in the middle to low and hard in the tail area. And the nose has our famous channels. Rapier for 2009 has a 1/8” increased nose width. The wider nose will make the Rapier an even better nose rider.

Banana Model NEW 2009
Banana
The original Banana model was designed in 1963 - it was yellow and just happened to look like a giant banana in the surf. It was unique in that it had significantly more rocker than the typical surfboard built during this era and may have been the first board designed with real rocker. Since then it has gone through many modifications and decades later the Banana model remains as the anchor of our surfboard line. It is the universal surfboard with few limitations. This model remains the best choice for the surfer needing some floatation and paddling ease without sacrifice in maneuverability. The Banana Model is a must have!
For 2009 we increased the nose width 1/8”, giving more stability. We digitally corrected the rocker. The corners of the tail block have been slightly rounded making it more forgiving, and because the softening is less than the typical squash, the drive has not been sacrificed. The Banana is now the closest to High Performance we have in our Cruiser line.

San-O NEW 2009
San-O
You want a board that will catch lots of waves? This is your board. The San-O model was designed as the longboard with excellent flotation, stability and ease of paddling, with plenty of maneuverability. The San-O model's 18" nose and 15 1/2" tail gives the outline in the middle of the board some straightness, which aids the ride on the tip. The San-O is fully equipped with our famous nose channels for that controlled nose ride.
The 2009 San-O has a ½” wider nose, increased ¼”center width, and the tail is 16”. These reflect more what the San-O is all about, a nose riding, wave magnet.

66 Banana NEW!
66 Banana
This is a replica of a 1966 Banana Model. It is a surfboard for the surfer wishing to experience the feel of one of the masterpieces of the sixties. Glide and drive are superb, while the flat rocker that we had then may give the less competent some issues. This board will make you learn to turn using proper techniques, so it is really a great teaching tool. While today’s nose designs are easier for tip time, this board will certainly do it and you will learn to do it correctly.

Designed in the 80's using all of the knowledge gained through the longboard years of the 60's, this board has the glide that was so important, and a turn that rivals the best design from that era. This is a great board for someone who wants the best of everything from those golden years.

Noserider NEW!
Noserider
The Nose Rider is superb at what its name implies. With one of the more exaggerated concaves ever built, this board will simplify getting tip time like never before. But that is just the beginning because it catches waves quite well, and it turns quite easily. This is your "take to the beach on an average day board" because surfing is supposed to be fun.

Trestle Special
Trestle Special
[discontinued]The original shape was developed in 1964 to surf Trestles; one of the premier breaks on the California coast. Today's Trestle Special is basically the same board however, using modern technology. With the extra weight gained from the 3 cedar stringers and volan glass the Trestle Special is ideal for reef or point breaks. All Trestle Specials are available with clear volan glass, 3 cedar stringers 6" apart, a foam tail block and the Trestle Special vintage logo - no options. We like to keep this one lookin' the same as in 1964.

Cheater II
Cheater II
[discontinued]Who says cheaters never prosper! The Cheater II is an exact replica of our 1966 Cheater - the for-runner of all bender boards. It has a step deck that allows the nose rocker to straighten out when you're riding the nose. The tail is 15 1/2" wide and the rails are classic egg from the middle of the board to the nose. The rails gently roll up until reaching the tail where they are 100% up. The Cheater II was the ultimate nose rider of the '60s. It comes with two 1/8" stringers touching at the nose and 1 1/4" apart at the tail, forming a wedge. Complete with a high-density foam tail block and total transparent colors only.

High Performance

These boards average 1/4" thinner than cruisers and classics. The thinness and lighter weight 6/4 deck and 6 bottom glass allows much more sensitivity to the wave. They all have our famous nose channels and 3/8" basswood stringer. Accomplished to pro ability recommended.

See which High Performance is best for you.

H3
H3
A high performance 2+1 design that is a bit wider than our other high performance boards, this board has the turn that one expects from a pintail, and plenty of acceleration out of that turn. The H3 will handle a wide range of surf size and quality with little loss of performance no matter what quality wave you surf in. Other boards may have a slight edge in one specified situation but this is the high performance board you take to the beach 95% of the time. Nose rides, turns, and speed — it has it all. And the nose has our famous channels.

HP1
HP1
The HP1, our High Performance single fin nose rides, tube rides, paddles and catches waves better than a tri-fin board of similar dimensions because it has no side fins to create drag in the water. Carving turns was never easier on a single fin because of the board's shape and specifically the specially designed HP fin. This unique fin design wags with the turn and actually thrusts the surfer forward upon exiting the turn! The HP1 is truly a high performance single fin longboard.

Diamond Tail
Diamond Tail
The corners of the diamond tail are 2" forward of the same length square tail shortening both the outline and the rocker line at the rail, thus shortening the turning radius. This causes the board to feel shorter, making the Diamond Tail a very responsive design with more than adequate drive and turn connect.

Wing Pin
Wing Pin
Available as a single fin and 2+1, this design is for the more advanced surfer. Pintails have been known for their general forgiving nature since the beginning of modern surfboard design. The pin tail design allows for great transition from turn to cutback. But in the case of the Wing Pin, the wings give drive off the slight corner they create, and the pintail gives some great flow to the turns. This board deserves some real juice!

Sol
Sol
The Sol model was inspired while the Harbour design team was on the North Shore of Oahu recalling the remarkable attributes of the 1967 Sol. This pintail board delivers smooth turns and transition to cut backs while its slim outline gives enough punch for great drive from the turns. The Sol is offered in clear only with no nose channels and a 2 + 1 fin set-up. Advanced surfers riding larger sized waves please!

Drifter
Drifter
This midrange board is pure performance. The Drifter has the feel and some of the look of a short board with supreme maneuverability yet much more volume for float. A narrow nose and tail give this model a sleek, curvy outline for turning. The Drifter features 3 fins, and the vintage "Drifter" logo.

Spherical Revolver
Spherical Revolver
The Spherical Revolver is an update of the popular 1969 design of the same name. This mid-range board is pure fun. With its wide surface area and elliptical shape the Spherical Revolver is stable and quick and has an amazing amount of maneuverability. A great design for the longboarder that wants some of the shorter feel. The shorter sizes will accommodate either 150-lb. surfers of better ability or very light surfers. The longer size range of this board will perform best for 200 lb. good surfers or lighter surfers that want a full round tail on a wider board. This full figured board will really put some fire back in your surfing. The Spherical Revolver is offered in both a single fin and a 2 + 1 fin set-up and has the original 1969 logo.

Sausage NEW!
Sausage
If you are a good paddler and in good shape the Sausage is your guarantee for a good time! This board shines in waves waist to head high that are generally less powerful and mushy. The flat rocker, wide template and full rails make for an effortless glide. The shorter length makes for tighter, in the pocket turns too! Keep this in the car at all times! If it is too small and mushy to ride your standard thruster, don't grab that longboard; grab the Sausage. Are you riding 7' or 8' boards and you're ready to graduate to a shortboard? Give the Sausage a try! The Sausage is a great steppingstone towards riding a standard shortboard! It comes as a thruster or quad.

Fish NEW!
Fish
A Fish shape is not for beginners, as some skill is needed to make it work. Surfing a Fish is almost like riding a skateboard on water. They have very little rocker, and a width that is almost as wide as a contemporary board that is 3 feet longer. There is lots of curve in the front half of the outline with the tail area becoming much straighter. And it has a wide swallow. Hey, this is not your normal approach to making surfboards. These boards float well for their size, but to remain true to their design concept it is recommended to stay within the 5-6 and 6-6 size range. These boards are for waves in the waist to head high range, although this does not restrict someone from pushing these numbers.

Electric
Electric
Drive down line and snaps off the lip are inherent traits of this quad. It is a board for the more advanced surfer — a true piece of high performance equipment. With a wider width and tail, it borrows a little of the fish feel. The wings allow the outline to break curve without sacrificing speed, in fact the wings enhance that speed. The swallow is wide, so we have a taste of fish here too. The quad fin set promotes very tight turns, and there is no center fin to cause drag. This board is Electric!

Off The Menu

Since 1959 we've been hand crafting each surfboard right in the back of our shop, we do offer board models that are not listed on our standard board menu. Our shape staff has been spotted crafting 70's style rounded pin tail single fins, 70's style twin fins, diamond tip Revolvers and oh so many California Guns. You may even request a balsa board to be hand built by Rich Harbour - but fair warning, he only builds a limited number of these gems a year. Although our main surfboard line has achieved 40 + years of proven design success, feel free to bring your own suggestions to our staff whether it be custom board dimensions or just a snazzy stringer setup. Contact the shop for details.

Some of our models are offered with the Surftech Tuflite technology.
